Succulent Special
Succulents include sedums, aloes, agave, string of pearls/hearts/dolphins, senecio…anything with thick leaves.
Succulents like bright light and a western or southern facing exposure. Except for Haworthia or Gasteria varieties. These can take a little more shade.
Succulents don’t need much water because their thick leaves store it. To propagate a succulent, simply break off a piece and place it on top of some soil. Roots will form out of the joints or leaf ends and grow out seeking moisture. At this point, you can plant it in shallow dirt. Ensure to use soil that drains well and doesn’t hold much moisture. Do not try to propagate succulents in water. They will rot. Succulents will grow roots out into the air as well, seeking moisture. In humid conditions, they are able to obtain enough water from the air to survive!
